CO2 laser

CO2 laser is a 10,600 nm wavelength laser used in dermatology to precisely remove unwanted skin lesions. It works by vaporizing and destroying targeted tissue while minimizing damage to the surrounding skin.

It is commonly used for the removal of moles, freckles, skin tags, warts, milia, and other benign skin lesions. The precision of the laser allows selective removal of abnormal tissue without significant bleeding, and in most cases, stitches are not required.

Compared to surgical excision, CO2 laser treatment causes less damage to surrounding tissue, which helps reduce the risk of scarring.

 Will there be a scar after treatment?

In general, the treated area is very small and heals with a smooth surface. With proper aftercare, scarring is unlikely.

 Does the treatment hurt?

• A topical anesthetic cream is applied for about 45 minutes before the procedure

• For larger treatment areas or thicker skin (such as palms or soles), injectable anesthesia may be used

• The procedure itself is typically not painful due to anesthesia
